General Boarding Information
Things to remember about boarding with Rising Hope Riding Center. We are providing boarding as a benefit to students/volunteers giving them a safe place to enjoy equine activities and community. Rising Hope will not be providing a full service boarding program, owners will be expected to play an active role in their horses care. We will be asking each boarder to give 5 hours per month of their time to help keep these prices low.
Boarding Availability
Boarders must be a student, dedicated volunteer, or member of the community. An interview process may be used to decide whom may board at RHRC. Boarding at our facility is limited to the amount of space available, a waiting list will be available when we reach capacity.
Boarding Rates
Outside Board Cost: $300/month plus 5 hours of volunteer work per month
This includes hay and grain (12% sweet feed, up to 5 lbs per day). Outside board does not include blanket changes or other horse care needs (i.e. worming, vaccines, and holding for vet/farrier).
Inside Board
$450/month - without stall cleaning (you must clean daily) plus 5 hours of volunteer work
$600/month - with stall cleaning plus 5 hours of volunteer work
Inside board includes hay and grain (12% sweet feed up to 5 lbs per day), shavings 12 bags per month, 1 blanket change per day, and turnout. This does not include horse care needs such as worming, vaccines, and holding for vet/farrier.
Additional Costs
Worming: $10 plus the cost of the wormer
Vaccines: $15 plus the cost of the vaccine and vet
Holding for vet/farrier/chiropractor: $15 per every 1/2 hour
Clean Stall: $5 per day

Boarding Rules and Regulations
Rising Hope Riding Center retains the right to amend rules & policies
- All boarded horses must have a current NEGATIVE Coggins, proof of vaccinations, and Health Certificate (if from out of state).
- Board will be paid in advance by the 1st of each month. A late fee of $5 per day will be charged after the 5th.
- All horses will follow RHRC worming schedule, unless otherwise indicated be a veterinarian for medical reasons.
- Boarders/Owners must write any changes to their horses care in the Boarders Communication Book located in the Arena Barn.
- Boarders/Owners feeding supplements must bag supplements or use SmartPaks.
- Boarders/Owners feeding grains other than what is provided by RHRC will need to supply their own grain.
- ALL MINORS MUST WEAR ASTM/SEI PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR WHEN RIDING & ANYONE JUMPING A HORSE MUST ALSO WEAR PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR CERTIFIED BY ASTM/SEI. We do recommend ASTM/SEI protective headgear to be worm by anyone riding a horse.
- It is the responsibility of the boarders/owners to have their guests & visitors sign a release of liability contract. Boarders/Owners will be responsible for their guest's actions while one the property.
- Horses with hind shoes are not to be turned out with other horses without written permission from the other horse owners. (We do not provide private turnout.)
- RHRC lessons/activities have first priority over riding areas (please see schedule next to the arena). A boarder may not ride in the rings during a lesson unless first receiving permission from the instructor.
- Boarders/Owners are responsible for cleaning up their messes in the grooming areas.
- Boarders/Owners are responsible for cleaning up their manure and equipment from the riding areas.
- Horse Blankets you are using should be hung neatly on your blanket rack, and any extra blankets should be stored. Please clearly mark your blankets with your name.
- Each boarder will be given an area to store a tack trunk, saddle, and groom kit.
- All boarders are expected to follow RHRC Barn Rules & Arena Etiquette (these are posted in the arena & barn).
- RHRC's horses, tack, trailers, and large equipment will not be available for Boarders use.
- Outside trainers/instructors will be permitted according to the Outside Training Policy. A copy of this can be found in your Boarder's Packet or in the office.
- Please be aware that because we are a 501(c)3 and we cannot have a "for profit" business operating on the property.
- Anyone who fails to comply with any RHRC rules or policies will be issued a verbal warning from RHRC staff. Repeat offenses can result in termination of your Boarding Agreement.
